Is Story Point Poker free?

Yes. Unlimited players, always free. Optional support includes a one-time coffee donation from the footer (Stripe) so free rooms can stay available for everyone.

Is there a limit on how many people can join a room?

No. Unlimited players on free — no seat caps, no per-person charges. Bring the whole squad.

Do I need an account?

No for core play. Guests enter a display name and join with anonymous auth. Optional accounts add a saved profile name you can reuse across rooms.

How do I invite people?

Share the room code or the direct link to /room/YOURCODE. Anyone with the link can open the join flow.

Can others see my vote before reveal?

No. The room only shows that you have voted (or not). Point values stay private until the host reveals the round.

What do the cards mean?

The default deck is a Fibonacci-style set (0, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21) plus “?” for unknown and a coffee card for a break. Numbers are relative size, not hours, unless your team agrees otherwise.

Who can reveal votes?

The host. Hosts can also start timers, clear rounds, nudge non-voters, kick players, set the story title, and transfer host to another participant.

What if the host leaves?

Host succession promotes another participant when needed so the room can continue. If the last person leaves, the room is removed.

Can the host remove someone?

Yes. Kick removes them from the room right away; they can rejoin with the invite. Ban also blocks that account or guest session from coming back to the same room. The host can unban them later if that was a mistake. They can still join a new room.

Do I leave if I close the tab or lose connection?

Not immediately. Use Leave room when you intend to exit. Switching tabs or briefly losing connection keeps you in the room. If you stay disconnected for several minutes, you will be dropped — reopen the invite link to rejoin. An open room tab reconnects on its own.

What do accounts add?

A saved display name and a profile you can use across sessions. Guests still play without signing up.

What do you store about me?

Display names, room activity needed to run a session, and — if you register — email and profile fields. Details are in the Privacy Policy.

Do you sell my data?
