About Story Point Poker

A free, real-time planning poker tool for agile teams — simple rooms, hidden votes, and less anchoring.

What we are

Story Point Poker helps software teams estimate backlog items together. A host creates a room, shares a short code or link, and everyone votes with Fibonacci-style cards. Votes stay hidden until the host reveals them, so the first loud opinion does not skew the room.

We built it as a focused product: no heavy setup, no mandatory accounts for guests, and a session that works in the browser with live updates. Typical use is sprint planning or refinement — open a room, point a few stories, move on.

Who runs this

Story Point Poker is a small independent project. It is not affiliated with Scrum.org, Scaled Agile, or any enterprise suite. We care about clear estimation UX, reliable realtime rooms, and keeping the free tier usable for real teams.

The app is maintained as open product work: features like timers, host transfer, guest play, and optional accounts exist so remote squads can run a session without friction.

How the product works (high level)

  • Guests join with a display name — no email required.
  • Hosts control the story title, timer, reveal, new round, and nudges.
  • Optional accounts support a saved display name and (when available) an ad-free plan.
  • Rooms use a short invite code so you can drop a link in chat and start in seconds.
